About Me
My name is MARISA SCHREIBER
My yoga journey started in 2010, after being retrenched from a corporate institution earlier that year. I was always fascinated by everything I read about the practice and wanted to experience it for myself. After my first week, under the loving care of Colleen Botha, I was hooked!! I thought, if one week can make me feel this good, what else is there to learn and experience – a treasure chest waiting to be opened…
And that is exactly what I did… In 2014 I obtained my 500 hour ISHTA International Yoga Teacher Certificate under the absolutely marvelous, Marina Contardo, (to whom I am deeply grateful for the wisdom she shared with me), she trained directly under Kavi Yogi Swarananda Mani Finger, creator of ISHTA Yoga, and his brother, Yogiraj Alan Finger. ISHTA aims to give each student an understanding of how to incorporate aspects from various yoga styles and practices in a way that best suits their individual paths.
My aim is to help as many people as I can to enjoy the wonderful benefits of yoga. Yoga is the perfect opportunity to be curious about who you really are and to use posture to understand and transform yourself. Yoga has helped me grow stronger, mentally and physically, and inspires me to live each moment more mindfully. There is always something new to learn about the practice & about oneself. Yoga creates that space, that freedom, that release & that balance.
I hope to help others thrive in life by nurturing body, mind and soul through yoga, and my wish is that you step off the mat feeling refreshed, nourished, and balanced.
